FAQs

How long does therapy take?

That depends on the client and the things you want to work on.  For example:  if there is trauma, that can take quite some time to work through, up to a year.  If there is anxiety and depression without a precipitating event, that can go pretty quickly, 1-2 months, with weekly sessions.

How much do sessions cost?

I accept many insurances and you can find them on this site under ‘Insurance’.  If you are paying out of pocket or network, I charge $80 per session. You will receive an invoice from me that you will submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

How often do we meet and for how long?

For children, I usually keep sessions to 30 minutes, which is the shortest session time I offer.  For adults, a standard session is usually 60 minutes, although you are in charge of how long we meet. Standard session times are 30, 45, or 60 minutes.  We can also meet as often as you like.  Some scheduling options are:  once per week, biweekly, monthly, or as needed. This also applies to sessions for children.

What methods do you use in your therapy?

I use Trauma Focused CBT for trauma clients.  I use a medley of many evidence based treatments for every diagnosis such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, Gestalt, ACT, Family Dynamics, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.  I also use many books, workbooks, videos, and outside sources as homework.  Most importantly, I am all natural in my approach; diet, vitamins and minerals to improve your mental health naturally.

What are you like as a therapist?

I’m straight forward and do not mince my words.  I will be the most invasive person you have ever met (in the BEST way)!  I will ask about every aspect of your entire life to determine the root cause of what is happening.  I will help hold you accountable to stay on track towards your success and we will walk the journey together, at your pace.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you provide at least 24 hours in advance notice when cancelling, so that I can put another client in that spot.  If you fail to cancel more than 24 hours in advance, there is a full session charge of $80.  If you cancel within 24 hours more than twice, sessions will pause until you are able to make your sessions consistently or give enough notice.

Do you do free consultations?

Yes!  I will contact you at an agreed upon time for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit.

Do you see children and if so, how young?
